Introduction client

Free Your Mind festival is an annual tech house festival in Arnhem that has set up the organisation Ponton to provide tech house events in Amsterdam. Ponton teamed up with the location Undercurrent in Amsterdam. This location has 2 indoor spaces and 2 outdoor spaces. Their partnership means that Ponton is the one who’s responsible for all the musical events in Undercurrent. The name Ponton is Dutch for a pontoon boat, which means a floating platform whose main purpose is to support what is or is on it. They have given it the name Ponton, because the location is on water. When a boat passes by, you feel the location move a bit. Ponton works with a ferry company to bring people straight from central station Amsterdam to their location. Pontons mission is to give every visitor the best night of their life. Their vision is clear: they want to become the best night club of Amsterdam.

Problem: Not enough tickets are being sold for their upcoming event

Challenge: Make Ponton the new hotspot in Amsterdam for 2020 by creating a unique event concept​

Redefined Design Question: "How can Ponton create more brand awareness to attract more visitors in 2020?

Research has shown that poor ticket sales are due to Ponton's marketing strategy. In conversation with Ponton was chosen, because their great wish was that we came up with unique event concepts, to create a marketing concept and an event concept. Only the marketing concept therefore answers the design question.
